Adjuvant therapy is a specific kind of cancer fighting treatment that is given when it is supposed that the cancerous cell have extended outside the original area. This kind of treatment is really useful for fighting against many cancers problem like breast cancer, ovarian cancer, testicular cancer and many more. It is really very difficult and confusing to destroy cancerous cells because they are quite small in size for example 1000 cancerous cells compressed in to 0.1 mm size. When doctors detect the cancerous cells in a specific part of the body there are possible chances that some cancerous cells must not be seen by any doctors as they are so small.

During the surgical intervention a patient need to go through a many clinical tests which are quite necessary too. Usually an assumption is made if the tests results are positive then there no chances of practical presence of cancerous cells. But when the tests results show negative results it means there is no detectable presence of cancerous cells. As the cancerous cells are microscopic in size majority of cancerous cells can easily hide themselves from the any detection tests. So there are some people who suffer from hidden cancerous cells and there are some people who receive the treatment of adjuvant chemotherapy

People who are supposed to have hidden cancerous cells are benefited by the treatment of adjuvant chemotherapy. In adjuvant chemotherapy the drugs that are used for the treatment are believed to damage the left over cancerous cells in that area of the body. This treatment is requires different series and lines to be done. When the first line of hidden cancerous cells is observed first line of adjuvant chemotherapy drugs is processed. If the treatment comes out to be a failure then second line is applied. And if second also comes out to be a failure then there are chances of further treatment to cure the cancer problem. Although this treatment comes out with no guarantee tag but still many people have been benefited by this treatment that balance the risk of side effects associated with it.
