Different Liposuction Techniques
Different Liposuction Techniques
There are quite a large number of people, across the globe, who have to face a lot of trouble by the accumulation of fat on different parts of the body like the cheeks, neck, abdomen and hips. They get rid of the unwanted fat by going for a treatment called liposuction, which is basically a surgical method of removing excess fat from the body. Ever since liposuction was first introduced to this day different liposuction techniques have been developed by doctors across the world who specializes in fat removal through liposuction. All the different techniques have been found to be quite effective and are widely used by different doctors.
The different liposuction techniques are broadly classified into four categories and all of them have been found to be equally effective. These four categories of liposuction techniques are dry liposuction technique, wet liposuction technique, super wet liposuction technique and tumescent liposuction technique.
DifferentLiposuction TechniquesOf all the different liposuction techniques, the dry liposuction technique is the most traditional one. In this technique the excess fat is sucked out from the region where there is an accumulation of unnecessary fat by the help of a cannula. The technique is called the dry technique as the surgeons do not use tumescing fluid for the operation. This liposuction technique is found to have negative effects on the body like necrosis, damage of the nerves and considerable loss of blood.
In the wet liposuction technique the surgeons inject a tumescent fluid on to those regions of the body from which a person wishes to remove excess fat. The different tumescent fluids that are used in the surgery include saline, lidocaine and epinephrine. The amount of the tumescent fluid that is injected into the body is less than the amount of fat meant to be lost using this technique.
Super wet liposuction technique is somewhat similar to the wet technique as it also involves the injection of a tumescent fluid on to the body. The main difference of this technique with the wet technique is in the amount of tumescent fluid that is used. The amount of tumescent fluid used for this liposuction technique has to be the same as the amount of fat that needs to be removed from the body.
All the different liposuction techniques that are used across the world, the tumescent liposuction technique is considered to be the most risky one due to the increased amount of the tumescent fluid that is injected into the body. In this method, the amount of injected tumescent fluid is found to be around two times the amount of fat meant to be removed from the body. This higher amount of tumescent fluid increases the risk involved in the process. Moreover, higher amount of lidocaine that is used in the technique can even cause the death of the person undergoing liposuction.
Those who want to opt for a liposuction surgery can choose from any of the different liposuction techniques that are used by doctors around the world. Whichever method you wish to use make sure that you know the risks involved with the particular method and consult with your doctor whether to go ahead with the surgery or not
